In this series of sermons, Pastor Jeff Niell of Emmanuel Covenant Church in Phoenix, Arizona, presents the office of deacon as that which will, when exercised rightly, beautify the Church. The deacons are servants who, in a unique way, demonstrate Christ's love for His Church. This series considers some of the historic practices--good and bad--as well as the qualifications for deacons. The series concludes by dealing with the modern question of women deacons and the historic practices of those who were called "deaconesses."
